OLFACTORY MEMORIES

Being the perfume addict that I am, certainly gives me the right to get excited whenever I discover a new initiative that deals with fragrances.
Our sense of smell is connected directly to our brain and to our memories, and it’s a well known fact that aromas triggers our memories.

Guerlain has launched the OLFAPLAY app, The first digital Radio for perfume lovers and an amazing way to encourage us to share our olfactory memories and listen to the olfactory memories of others.

At the moment the platforme is available only in french, so i’m waiting for the english version ūüė¶ hopefully it will happen soon.

LEADING BEAUTY TRENDS FOR 2019

2019 is here and it’s going to be a beautiful one for sure!

According to the Trends Forecasting Expert Adi Yofe: “2019 will be the seam. A year between the old world and the new world. Change new settings and mix terms. A year of extremes that will work simultaneously: this is a year when we are lazy about shopping, but active in everything related to a “better world.” “

How will this affects the beauty industry and what are the trends to expect during 2019?

SUB ZERO WASTE

It’s probably the leading trend for the upcoming years, one that all of the beauty companies and brands will put a lot of effort and attention in. Zero waste and sustainability will become the new “state of mind” when talking about beauty.

ORGANIC, GREEN AND NATUR

A direct and natural continuation of the first trend. attention to natural ingredients and their origins will become even more popular than they already are. More and more consumers will care about sustainability and the use of natural organic ingredients, and formulas that have not been tested on animals.

We will focus on acquiring benefits for their skin and the environment side by side.

CURING & HEALING & CICA PRODUCTS

Cica taken from the french word cicatriser meaning “to heal”, will be a very popular word when it comes to beauty and skincare.

The healing category will continue to grow in largest percentages. being the second growing category after the anti-aging one last year, it seems like consumers will be looking for healing solutions and “cures” for the skin. More and more consumers are facing skin sensitivity problems as a result of extreme weather changes, pollution and stressful lifestyle, and it’s only natural for the beauty brands to supply the “cure”.

THE RETURN OF CAPSULES AND AMPOULES

The search for skin healing products will bring the capsules and ampoules back to the stage

Inside we will find active ingredients that will boost our skin look & feel like vitamin c, vitamin E and more… minimum quantities – maximum efficiency.

PERSONALIZATION

Demand for individualism and self-expression will continue to rise, cosmetic brands that will find interesting and creative ways to help consumers express themselves in an interesting and fun way will thrive.

This will also be a key factor when it comes to retail. the retailers that will not invest in creating unique consumers experiences, both online and offline will loose a massive amount of their profits.

TECHNOLOGY MEETS BEAUTY

It turns out that faster than we thought technology will help us choose the right beauty and perfume products online. think about smelling your fragrances online before click on the “add to cart” button, or getting your skin diagnosed online based on a live photo…

A MOMENT WITH @alexandrecolaianni

A second before the end of 2018, and the beginning of his very busy schedule for the upcoming year, we had the chance to have our moment with Alexander Colaianni Рthe international  Make-Up artist for the iconic french cosmetic brand sisley paris.

Traveling around the globe for almost 13 years now, he learned a lot from all his encounters with women from different cultures

Alex about women

I learn a lot from all the women I meet during my trips, it is very interesting for me to see the differences between women in different cultures. nowadays women decide who they want to be and they go for it. they emphasize their individuality and i think it is great. more and more women stop following trends and find their own unique language

How about differences in their make-up style?

Mostly I find that women today are looking for a light and fresh look, that they can adopt in minimum time. I see a lot of customers that skip the foundation apply, and want a quick and attractive look, the most important thing for them is to feel comfortable with themselves and in their skin.

What to expect from Sisley’s next summer spring look?

Sisley is offering a lot of new products in the makeup category,¬† There seems to¬† be a continuity to the matte colors look that became so popular. nude colors Vs. bold colors, a wink to the 90’s and the fashionable trends that dominated it

Lady Liberty by @alexandrecolaianni

Who his this Lady Liberty you created?

She is confident and powerful. I was inspired from the comics world when I created her, to me she is like a wonder women from the 70’s comics, although Gal Gadot is definitely my favorite wonder women. she is amazing!!! I think all the Israeli women are like that… very open, self confident and beautiful.¬† this year women around the world took a huge step forward and found the courage to stop the exploitation and humiliation they have suffered from men over the years. this is my Lady Liberty, follows the wind, always moving forward but has her strong roots. very feminine and sensual.¬† ¬† ¬†¬†

In action on his asian tour

You spend most of your time in Asia, what can you tell about the beauty Asian market?

Well, it’s a huge market that rapidly changes. every time I visit China for example I discover new things, it seems like there are a lot of novelties in all aspects of life and it’s amazing. the Asian consumers now experiences the combination of beauty and technology inside the stores, they get their beauty¬† ¬† advice from an online platforms located in the stores and saving them a lot of¬† time. they like to try new makeup products but more conservative when it comes to skincare. they do not compromise on quality¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†

Make up for a leading production in china

You travel a lot, and your skin looks great…tell us all your secrets¬†

Oh, its my Italian genes …LOL

I take a good care of myself. I have too! When you travel that much you have no other option. For me the most important thing is a good and long night sleep.

when it comes to my skincare routine, sisleya is my favorite skincare product, and since i love the sun i also use the Sunleya. Im also taking the time to use the¬† ¬† Botanical d-tox 3 times a year. it is a powerful month-long night treatment to¬† combat signs of fatigue. and when I’m in Jetlag the black rose musk is a skin savior.

A moment in Tel Aviv

What do you do when you’re off travelling?

¬† It’s pretty rare but when I’m¬† finally back in Paris I like to have some time for myself, after being away from home for such a long time I really appreciate the¬† time with myself. I have time to paint (Alex is a very talented artist M.V) and I spend time with my son and family.¬† ¬† ¬†¬†

What is your next stop?

I’m finally going back to Paris for the holiday season. I need to get some sleep…LOL¬†
