Winter is here and as much as we love to cuddle with our coffee mugs and pj’s we know that our skin prefer mid season…
how do we know that? simply because we feel the dryness, the increased sensitivity and even a simple mission such as applying your foundation can become a nightmare.
We’ve gathered some of the most important tips for keeping your skin in the cold winter
As corny as water sounds, it is the main source of moisture in our skin. In the winter we tend to drink less water while increasing consumption of caffeine-based hot drinks, which dehydrate the skin even more.
make sure you drink at list 1.5 liters of water every day or at least drink a glass of water for every cup of coffee or tea you drink
Choose your cleansers wisely and use delicate products based on water and soothing plant extracts rather than on alcohol
It is time to switch to using richer textures in your skincare products, preferably products that are rich in fatty acids, hyaluronic acid, aromatic oils, shea butter, vitamins and minerals.
It is highly recommended to use a night cream in order to give extra moisture to the skin while you are asleep. night is the best time to repair skin damage
If during the summer we seek to apply as few layers as possible to the skin, winter is an excellent time for multilayering. This is a perfect time to use serums and give the skin a deeper rehabilitation treatment, to encourage the skin to act as a young skin, to enrich the skin with active substances and moisture, and also to prevent loss of shine and glow as a result of dehydration
Even when the sun does not shine outside there is a high radiation and we must protect our skin from it. make sure to choose the right SPF product when going outside.
Treat your skin at least once a week with a rich moisturizing mask
Don’t forget to pamper your body as well. make sure to apply body creams that are nutritious and rich in beneficial oils.
WHAT YOU EAT
Try to add “warm foods” to your daily diet and make sure to consume fruits and vegetables as well. blueberries are great source for antioxidants.
Winter is the ultimate time to use richer, more warm and sensual fragrances. our quick tip is to spray a bit of your winter fragrance on your scarf….
